Fr. Theodoros Giannakopoulos is the managing partner and one of the founding partners of our firm. He is based in our Florida office. Together with his wife Monica, he has established our firm as a leader in the preparation of financial statements in the construction industry.

With over 35 years of experience in the accounting field, 30 years of which are in the construction industry, he oversees the preparation of audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements and issuance of the corresponding reports. He also provides our clients with consulting services and year-end tax planning. His emphasis on excellent client service and industry knowledge has earned our firm the wide recognition and respect it enjoys from our clients as well as public agencies and surety companies in the construction industry.

Fr. Theodoros is a NY and FL licensed Certified Public Accountant. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Queens College. Prior to establishing our firm, he worked at Deloitte & Touche LLP in its international division as a shipping, retail and real estate auditor. He also served as Treasurer and Controller of Brokerage and Management Corp.

Monica Alvarez Giannakopoulos is one of the founding partners of our firm. She is based in our Florida office. Together with her husband Theodoros, she has established our firm as a leader in the preparation of financial statements in the construction industry.

With over 39 years of experience in the accounting field, 30 years of which are in the construction industry, she oversees the preparation of audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements and issuance of the corresponding reports. She also oversees accounting and bookkeeping services in our firm. Her attention to detail, industry knowledge, and staying abreast of the constantly changing accounting policies and auditing, review, and compilation standards has allowed our firm to be a trustworthy and top choice for clients, public agencies and surety companies in the construction industry.

Monica is a NY and FL licensed Certified Public Accountant. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Queens College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Queens College. Prior to establishing our firm, she worked at Grant Thorton LLP in its hospitality industry as an auditor. She also worked at several mid and small sized accounting firms as a Senior Auditor in the entertainment, manufacturing and hospitality industries.

Eleni Giannakopoulos is a partner located in our Florida office. She oversees the bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax areas of the office. She has over 14 years of experience with our firm. She is well versed in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to payroll and sales tax. She also handles worker’s compensation and general liability audits for clients.

In her role, she oversees union matters, including certified payroll, union remittance, and audits. She works closely with clients in preparing their books and records for various financial needs.

Eleni has taken the necessary accounting courses at Queens College, City University of New York. She has also taken bookkeeping courses with QuickBooks. She graduated with a Bachelor of Professional Studies from the Culinary Institute of America with a focus in Business Management.

Claudia Katos is a partner located in our Astoria office. She oversees the Tax practice with more than 13 years of experience, including income tax preparation, tax planning, handling IRS & state income tax audits, and IRS & state tax representations. She is also well versed in financial statement preparation, and conducting audits, reviews, and compilations for client’s compliance purposes.

In her role, she also deals closely with clients to ensure their books and records are accurate and to represent them in various types of audits, including union, worker’s compensation, and Federal & State taxing authorities.

Claudia is a NY licensed Certified Public Accountant. She obtained her Master of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business. Prior to joining our practice, she worked at KPMG LLP as a construction & real estate auditor. Before that she was an auditor and tax preparer for nonprofits at Marks Paneth & Shron LLP, as well as a tax preparer with the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA).

Markella Giannakopoulos is a senior accountant located in our Astoria office. Her primary focus is within the Tax and Accounting practices with more than 5 years of experience, including income tax preparation, bookkeeping, and IRS & state tax representations. She is also well versed in conducting financial statement audits and reviews. She works closely with clients in the preparation of their books and records for various audits and financial needs. Markella also represents them in these audits.

Markella is a NY licensed Certified Public Accountant. She obtained her Master of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business. Her prior experience includes working at KPMG LLP, a public accounting firm, as an auditor within the real estate & construction industry.
